Let me apologize for the somewhat poor drawings. Drawing isnít really my thing but I just did what I could. Much better at making figures I think.
Anyways, let me know if you like the idea and actually want to see this action figure completed. Iíll probably complete it regardless but if there is a lot of interest and people are pushing me to get it finished, it will probably be completed a lot faster. If this Korra figure turns out halfway decent Iíll go ahead and do some others as well.
EDIT: Got the first Korra WIP uploaded.
EDIT: And a second WIP.
Hi I would like to commend the person who is making the Korra figure. I believe there are a lot of little girls(looking for a female super hero)that would like to have one including my granddaughter who is 5 years old and is a huge fan of Korra. I came across your website through my daughter(the mother of the 5 year old)and we both agree that my granddaughter would be over joyed to see a Korra action figure as well as to get one of her very own. I just wanted to comment and let you know that it's great to see that someone with your talent who has acknowledged little girls who would love to have a female super hero.
Then again I also wish I could handle drawing feet. :/
I've got it mostly in pieces so you guys may have to imagine how it looks all pieced together
Was looking at Gen more closely for Korra, I still think it would work great but the torso definitely needs to be switched out, then you'd have to match up the new torso with the pelvis/legs, arggg...
Also, finally saw the LOK series, I think the DCUC torso really does look almost exactly like the cartoon model, good choice
I've been thinking of making Toph or Lin Bei Fong, have to practice sculpting clothing first though! Lots of folds and wrinkles >_<
I just had to do some reshaping and minor sculpting to a DCUC female torso. The lower half of the torso actually got a full layer of apoxie over it to get the shape just right but the upper half had less external work done.
You should do Toph! I've actually got a custom started of her but its in the veeery early stages. All I did was piece together parts that will make a good base.
Tooooopphhhhhhh! ...I don't have any figure small enough for her xD Guess I could find a Sakura to chop up.
Found these customs [link] Pretty cool (though I like making them a little more realistic). Do you know if the old Avatar figure heads would look good on 6 inch bodies?
and if so will the articulation b like the design of the korra one u have here?
I want all the figures to have lots of articulation like this if the character design allows for it. Lin would be really tough because of the shoulder design and the skirt flaps that would restrict leg movement though.
like the classic ball joints, or like revoltech joints
Or maybe the Ibuki Street Fighter (by SOTA) figure would work better
I think Gen would work better than Ibuki for the pants, they're less puffy and Gen already has a pliable skirt piece you can work with. Plus, I think you can get Gen for cheaper than Ibuki since female figures tend to be sold for more money online for some stupid reason.
The skirt piece is giving me trouble though. I think I'll have to sculpt it from scratch and mold/cast it in a softer plastic
I'll keep my watchers updated with any info regarding this project
